Since supporting One Direction on their Take Me Home world tour last year, Australia pop-rock band 5 Seconds of Summer have been somewhat thrown into the global spotlight.
Dubbed ‘the next big thing’ in pop music, and rightly so, 5 Seconds of Summer – or 5SOS as they’re affectionately called by their fans – are already making waves among the international music charts. Their debut worldwide single ‘She Looks So Perfect’ (their debut single ‘Out of My Limit’ was released in 2012 to AUS and NZ exclusively) charted in many countries around the world and scored them a number one hit in England, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand.
Despite their self-titled debut album not being released until June, 5SOS have already played headline tours throughout the UK, America and Australia and will soon go on to support One Direction once again during their ‘Where We Are’ stadium tour. With a massive fan base supporting them, 5 Seconds of Summer have the potential to become the biggest band to come out of Australia since AC/DC. Having co-written most, if not all, of their own music and established themselves as a talented and credible live band, 5 Seconds of Summer are well on their way to claiming that title.
